The University of Maryland School of Law/ABA had a screening of ‘The Response’ in Chicago Friday, July 31st, 2009. The screening was held at the Gene Siskel Film Center.

The University of Maryland School of Law’s acclaimed drama takes viewers inside the U.S. military tribunals in Guantanamo, Cuba. The film, winner of the 2009 American Bar Association’s prestigious Silver Gavel Award for public education through film, stars Kate Mulgrew, Peter Riegert, and Aasif Mandvi.

After the screening, Kate Mulgrew, along with writer/producer/actor Sig Libowitz, and Attorney Thomas Sullivan,discussed the film and the Guantanamo Bay military tribunals with the audience.
